    Good morning Happy Feeters!

Melanie, Adeline, and I did our best to collect your physical assessment results while on the Zoom yesterday evening, but that was a bit of an imperfect plan. (I don’t know that it met the “achievable” element of a SMART goal.) If you participated in our Zoom physical assessment yesterday, could you please either post your results here (if you are comfortable) or email them to me at battistellac@upmc.edu? I’ll give you a helpful format for the results below, feel free to copy and paste it and add your results.

    Thank you!
    Cara

    Hi,

I sent my assessment data to Cara’s email along with an exercise question, but I did not see a response. Maybe I missed it.

Here is what I sent the 1st evening for resistance training.

I joined the Cancer Bridges meeting tonight and I wanted to give you my assessment numbers.
    Balance Assessment — #1, 2, and 3 – yes to all.
Aerobic Assessment— Lifted foot 96 times, standing, no aid
Upper Body Strength—15 bicep curls, 3 lbs.
Lower Body Strength—9 stand ups, no arms, no aid

As for exercise, I am looking for exercises that can strengthen my back and give me improved balance. Every day I get jolts of pain in my lower back starting around my waist and extending out to my sides. Especially if I have been on my feet a lot that day, or did a lot of lifting, such as cleaning or shopping. Any help for relief will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Patricia Hensel

    Hi Patricia,

Unfortunately, I didn’t get your email. My last name is brutal to spell, so maybe that’s why I didn’t get it? But, thank you for posting your results here.

As far as your question, I’m going to make sure Adeline sees that and can respond.

    Thanks!
    Cara
