ParticipantHi everyone! My name is Susan L. (There are at least two other Susans in the group last night on Zoom) and I live in Middletown. So, not close to Pittsburgh! I am grateful for the online opportunity to get moving more and interact with others on their cancer journey and those supporting folks on a cancer journey. I have ovarian cancer, stage 4b-so I will always be on some kind of treatment. My cancer is aggressive, so we’re hoping to slow it down. But I am happy that there are more options now than there were 10 or so years ago. Looking forward to working out with everyone!

ParticipantHello everyone. My name is Denise. I live in the East suburbs of Pittsburgh. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018. I am currently on maintenance chemo every two weeks. I have been a member of Cancer Bridges (formerly Our Clubhouse) for over 10 years and have participated with Happy Feet 5 times. Jen is a wonderful and supportive facilitator and arranges for many informative speakers.I attend the monthly GI support group and Jonette’s Thursday morning exercise class – it is excellent.I volunteer with the children activities (Boo Bash and Bunny Bash) when I can, including Camp Clubhouse in the summer.I’m looking forward to meeting you and for Happy Feet to help me to be active during this cold winter.

ParticipantGreetings Happy Feet Warriors! My name is Lee Ann and I live in the City of Pittsburgh in the Friendship neighborhood- only about 2-3 miles from Cancer Bridges. I am a caregiver to my life partner of over 20 years – David. He has stage 4 stomach cancer. Things are stable now thankfully, so I have to seize the moment and work on building strength, endurance, great gut health, etc. I have some health challenges of my own including an autoimmune disease (RA) and lots of IBS issues. I tend to overcommit and then get overwhelmed but I have released myself from lots of commitments so this will be my year to finally focus on health and fitness. I stil have a backlog of old business but I will plug away on that too. I am ready so the timing of Happy Feet is wonderful. Thank you Jen and Cancer Bridges!!! I joined Happy Feet on the last round but was late to the game so I am really ooking forward to going all in this time. I am going to the Walk, Run and Lift app now. See you soon! Let’s go!!!

I have joined the monthly CLL support group which is very awesome and the people in the support group have encouraged me in so many ways. I will be unable to join you today at 12n due to a prior commitment. Will be back with the group on Thursday! Stay warm everyone.
