    Hi Everyone:

I am Virginia Howard, I am 1 year cancer survivor, I was diagnosed in January 2023 with Triple Negative Breast Cancer at the age of 57, three months short of being 58, I have gone through chemo, radiation and had my surgery in August 2023. This is my second year with Happy Feet with Cancer Bridges, and it has been such a rewarding experience as part of my recovery, and I am so very thankful for the opportunity with meeting others with some similar circumstances. I am also a full time Administrative Specialist for the Department of Human Services which I have worked for 23 years. I am also an avid cruiser and has been on over 10 cruises and absolutely love to travel and experience other cultures. I am a dog mom to a Shih Tzu named Louie who is 14 years old who is my avid companion at home as well as being a grandmother to a 4-year granddaughter who also keeps me active.

Hi everyone old and new to Happy Feet! My name is Debbie Ciak and this is my third session of HF and so very grateful for the support of Jen and the group members since facing my 1/23 breast cancer diagnosis. Sustained lung damage from the Verzenio targeted treatment, which meant I also did 36 lung rehab sessions after my mastectomy and radiation (1 positive node). Grateful for each and every day and have learned something very valuable with each presentation of HF. We are each dealing with our own individual challenges, but knowing that we are not alone, as we share with each other along the way, is most helpful and hopeful for me. The exercise component has been so beneficial to me physically and emotionally and it is the Happy Feet program that got me started on this new path to better health. I am 73 and finally retired; love to travel; read; attend theater and musical productions; and keep up with friends and family, who have been so incredibly supportive through this crazy cancer journey. I look forward to sharing this new experience with you all.

Hey all. For those of you I have yet to meet in the Tuesday chat I am John. I am not a survivor or patient of cancer but the care giver/taker to one. Thankfully, our hurdles are low at the present time and there are few major physical aspects to our journey beyond treatment reactions. In the 2 years since this all started, I have seen someone I’ve known and loved for 33 yrs drastically change. Ray was rarely hindered in his motivations, he feared little, and was loved by many. Today this isn’t the case, motivations are few, fear abounds and social connection is limited. Cancer Bridges and Happy Feet through it I hope will help us through all of this.
