ParticipantHi, my name is Patricia.
This is my 5th Happy Feet. I always look forward to this program for motivation that I definitely need. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and had a lumpectomy and radiation treatments. Subsequently, in 2023 I was diagnosed with radiation induced angiosarcoma. I had chemo with immunotherapy, a mastectomy, and radiation which I finished in March 2024.
Thank you Jen for heading up this program. It has helped me in my cancer journey.Patricia Hensel
ParticipantHi,
I sent my assessment data to Cara’s email along with an exercise question, but I did not see a response. Maybe I missed it.
Here is what I sent the 1st evening for resistance training.
I joined the Cancer Bridges meeting tonight and I wanted to give you my assessment numbers.
Balance Assessment — #1, 2, and 3 – yes to all.
Aerobic Assessment— Lifted foot 96 times, standing, no aid
Upper Body Strength—15 bicep curls, 3 lbs.
Lower Body Strength—9 stand ups, no arms, no aidAs for exercise, I am looking for exercises that can strengthen my back and give me improved balance. Every day I get jolts of pain in my lower back starting around my waist and extending out to my sides. Especially if I have been on my feet a lot that day, or did a lot of lifting, such as cleaning or shopping. Any help for relief will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
