ParticipantHello. My name is Donna. My husband was recently diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. I joined this program to learn more, to help motivate me to exercise, and to network with a supportive group.

ParticipantHello! This is Denise Esposto. I’ve been a volunteer at Cancer Bridges and Our Clubhouse since 2014. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018. I have had 4 surgeries since, several hospitalizations, many rounds of chemo and am currently on maintenance chemo every 10 days. I think this is my 4th Happy Feet program. I love this program because it motivates me to remain active. Jen is amazing as the facilitator and keeps us positive. The guest speakers and exercise program are great. Most of all, it is wonderful and supportive to meet new people on this common journey.I’m looking forward to the next 6 weeks of fun and adventure!

ParticipantHey,
I’m Pauli. It’s been almost 13 mo. since my last radiation treatment for breast cancer. I will be on immunotherapy until next August and an estrogen blocker probably for the rest of my life (I’m 74). The chemo has left me with some side effects that have changed my life. I’m sure the same is true for most of you. I met some exceptional women in the Happy Feet discussion room last night and am looking forward to continuing. Thanks, Jen for setting it up!September 19, 2025 at 3:01 pm #7947Paula Holmes

September 20, 2025 at 11:54 am #7948Debbie Ciak
ParticipantHi everyone: My name is Debbie C from Greensburg where there are no support programs for cancer patients. So, I am very glad to be able to return to Happy Feet (4th or 5th???), as it is a motivating, positive learning experience for which I am most grateful, thanks to Jen’s extraordinary program development and facilitation!!! Glad to have the support of so many on this journey we are all on. I am 2.5 years post mastectomy; radiation; hormone therapy; Verzenio targeted therapy that caused permanent lung damage; and, now heart issues that I am dealing with. The exercise component is so very important for my physical and emotional health and would never have done any of it, if it were not for finding Cancer Bridges and the Happy Feet program! Look forward to meeting the many new members of the program. Always something new to learn. Thanks, Jen!

ParticipantHello everyone!
I am Marcia, but you can call me Marci. My husband and I just returned to the Burgh after many years away so we could be closer to family as we deal with my breast cancer. I was diagnosed in January 2025 with IDC Triple Positive, went through TCHP chemo, a double mastectomy, a second surgery related to the mastectomy and now just had my first round of Kadcyla chemo, with 13 more to go. This summer as I went through the surgeries and recovered I gained over 20 lbs which feels just awful on top of everything else. I am so glad to have found Cancer Bridges and Happy Feet!September 23, 2025 at 12:14 pm #7953Janet Marlatt
ParticipantHello, I am Janet. I was diagnosed with Stage III Endometrial Cancer in 2015 and had recurrence the following year. I’ve had multiple surgeries, the last one 1/24/25. Right now I’m doing well as can be. I love Happy Feet because it helps me to push myself to really get moving. Jen is such a great person and facilitator!!

ParticipantI’m Bernadette Fischer. I started treatment July 3 for breast cancer. I need a group to motivate and hold me accountable to stay active so I don’t get too weak. Exercise also helps my mental health and sleep. I’m also interested in the wonderful resources and discussion group.
